Leslie (Les) Steiner

Accomplishments

      • Youth Coach for 25 Years

      Les has been a member of the St. Paul Bowling Association serving for 15 years (2005 – 2020) as a youth director and then after the merger between the St. Paul Bowling Association and the Minneapolis Bowling Association, serving as a director on the Twin Cities Bowling Association for the last five years (2020 – Current).  In total Les has been elected a member on the bowling board of directors for 20 years and continues to serve.  Les was re-elected to serve another term as a director at the 2024 Twin Cities USBC General Meeting.

      As a board member Les has been active on several committees including most recently the Awards & Recognition Committee.  He has attended several Minnesota State Bowling Association Conventions as well as several Young American Bowling Alliance (YABA) National Conventions, when that organization still existed prior to the merger with ABC & WIBC into the United States Bowling Congress (USBC).

      Les attends nearly all board meetings and consistently works multiple shifts at the association yearly tournaments.  Les can usually be found working at the tournament check-in desk.

      He was the league secretary for the Tuesday Night Sportsmen League as well as the one of the coaches that ran the AMF Saxon Junior Program Saturday mornings with Duane (Pizza) Perrizo.  Les has always been an incredible member of and steward to the Twin Cities Bowling community where he has been a league secretary for 45 plus years and coached junior bowling for approximately 25 years where he ran several junior tournament qualifying events at Saxon (like Junior Gold) and the Mama & Papa Vitale Youth Bowling Tournament.
