Dave Erickson

Accomplishments 

• • Dave started his commitment to bowling in 1963 and has served in many capacities.  He has been secretary of multiple leagues, worked with junior programs and high school bowling to expand the awareness of bowling. 

    Twin Cities USBC Association Contributions:

    • 1963-1972, Secretary/Treasurer of the HiWay 10 Majors Bowling League at HiWay 10 Bowl in Anoka.

     

    • 1973-1974, League coordinator and coach for St Paul ABC Junior Traveling League.

     

    • 2003-2008, Junior Bowling Coach at Minnehaha Lanes.
    • 2008-2020, Junior Bowling Coach at Flaherty’s Arden Bowl.
    • 2004-Present, Secretary/Treasurer of Star & Stripes Bowling League and growing league from 8 to 22 teams.
    • 2004-2012, coordinates shifts with as many as 16 bowlers to the Senior State Championships.
    • 2009-Present, Coordinates with several elementary schools to bring ‘bowling kits’ for use in physical education classes to bring awareness to bowling as a sport.
    • 2009-Present, Coordinates the ‘Kids Bowl Free’ bowling program for Flaherty’s. Currently there are 60 schools receiving information each year.
    • 2013-2020, worked with Tournament Director, Tom Groh, to establish a weekday date for the State Senior Tournament to facilitate increased participation in tournament. Over the past 7 years, Dave has brought as many as 56 bowlers to bowl this shift each year.
    • 2013-2014, Received Secretary of the Year Award for St Paul USBC.
    • 2016 – Coordinated Centennial High School Bowling Team and recruited coaches for the team.
    • 2016 – Present, Coordinated the Mounds View High School Bowling Team co-coached with Ray Turner
